Hi, I have two gerbils who are about 6-8 months old. The pet store told me they were both girls when I bought them at 4 months. One of them is chasing the other one around, thumping their feet then mounting on the other. I also saw her cleaning her private areas. They have not been speaking and have been doing this for quite awhile. The other girl is also mounting but not like the first one, she is just mounting quickly and running off. It looks like she is trying to get the others attention. I don't know if they are in heat or something else. Please help!
